NGOs NOT HAPPY ABOUT ROSEWOOD HARVEST IN THE SISSALA EAST DISTRICT

Some NGOs are becoming emotional about the rampant harvest of rosewood in the district, which is gradually exposing the district into a desert. Executive director of save Ghana Sule Dintie and Aloysius kanchog of Tudridep told RadfordFM Masie Breakfast Show, Wednesday morning “express that they don’t longer know what the future holds for us since the activities of unscrupulous rosewood merchant are eating away the vegetative cover of sissala east and therefore exposing it to a desert. “It is pathetic that the amount of money given to those loggers is nothing to talk about, yet they are influenced to cut down the rosewood without being mindful of the consequences in the near future”, Aloysius kanchog express.
Meanwhile SULE stated that, three things will befall the sissala land in the near future regarding the rosewood scandal where animals will lack water and feed, smaller trees lives gets lost in the process of felling the rosewood and a very great regret awaits those involved in the act. They also pleaded that community members, chiefs, assembly members and all should come together to stop these rosewood business for a better tomorrow for Sissala East district. Sule urge that we shouldn’t be spectators but participate in the district development thereby support the fight of rosewood harvest.
