The Silver Jubilee of the priestly ordination of Rev. Father John Kpan will be tomorrow Saturday, a day that marks his call to the service of God 25 years back. Rev. Father John had also lived 16 years in Tumu as the Parish priest of our lady of Lourdes Catholic church in Tumu. He as well oversees all branch Catholic churches in the Sissala East District and beyond. The silver Jubilee celebration will be marked on theme “Give praise to the Lord for twenty-five years of priestly Grace” and takes place at the church. He expects the church and the Sissala community at large to join him give thanks to God for the priestly call and blessing. He spoke to Radford News about his achievements 16 years now when he came to Tumu and some initiatives he took to bring peace aside challenges he faced in his service to God. Ahead of the celebration RadfordFM David Luri had an exclusive interview with him
“when i came to the Parish I realized the dominance of the Islamic religion in the area, I feel for Christianity to triumph we need peaceful co-existence and this led to the formation of a Christian/Muslim football club called CHRISMO . We had a smaller church which we collectively worked on as in the past many people sat outside but we now have a bigger church that contain all of us
We have a number of structures which were weak so I strengthened the structures of the church.
