Radford FM has distributed donations it received from the general public to selected beneficiaries from Tumu and some of its surrounding communities. Beneficiaries largely included widows, needy, neglected, terminally ill, visually impaired and physically challenged people among others.
It would be recalled that Radford FM on the 20th of November 2017 launched an appeal dubbed Mong Mua and called on NGOs, philanthropist and the general public for donations to be distributed to the needy. Items received and distributed included, used clothes, sandals, smocks, a bag of rice, maize and cash of One hundred and five Ghana Cedis. About forty people benefited from the donation exercise.
Speaking at the brief ceremony held to give the donations to the beneficiaries, the General Manager of the station, Mr Mohammed Balu Salia thanked all those who donated to make the event fruitful. He also called on more philanthropists to come on board to ensure that subsequent donations would be bigger than what they received this year. He recounted instances the station have engaged in such acts.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the kind gesture extended to them.
