Hon. Salifu Naliwie has bemoaned that less attention is given to girls by some parents who sometimes makes little efforts to educate the Girl child. He echoed on the need to educate the girl child to remind parents on the importance of educating girls a short while after an inspiring poem from a girl that questioned if there have never been a girl who became a nurse, teacher and the other professions one can name and wonders what kind of a world it is where the place of a girl is marriage and the kitchen. Mr. Nalwie was the guest speaker for this year’s Duwie student union 7th annual meeting where he further urged that good and responsible leadership offers the best solution for development of a community and calls for the youth to respect leaders. He also advised leaders to be truthful and allow God fearing and integrity to lead them with self-discipline devoid of taken sides to win the trust of people.
Leaders don’t lie, “the fact that people don’t watch you doesn’t mean a leader should lie” he emphasized. Mr. Nalwie stated that leaderships is transitory and cautioned leaders to be sympathetic, responsible and offer equal opportunity to people with considerations to their interest. These were words he spoke to inspire leadership of Duwie students union last Saturday.
