Some retiree nurses from the Tumu District Hospital have admonished nurses and medical professionals to exercise the maximum level of patience when dealing with their clients. The Tumu district hospital on the 12th of January 2018 organized a Send-off party to officially honor four of their retiree nurses who went on retirement in 2017.
The retiree nurses included the hospitals former Deputy Director of Nursing Service and head of the Nursing Department, Rev. Sister Lawrencia Hanee, Madam Saratu Tahiru, Madam Martina Eeito and Madam Agnes Adjei. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Radford FM’s News Desk after the event, the retiree nurses called on medical professionals to make patience their hallmark when dealing with their clients.
They also identified passion as their source of motivation despite the numerous challenges they faced while in the service. They therefore called on nurses to have an innate passion for the profession if they want to last long in the profession. The Sissala East District Chief Executive, Hon Karim Nanyua who honored event expressed his joy at the selfless service the retiree nurses offered the district He however called on them to still assist the hospital with their experience.
Other dignitaries who honored the event included the hospital’s medical director, the district coordinating director, the district’s NHIS Director, the Principal of the Tumu Midwifery School among others.
