The diversion of vehicular traffic on the Wa-Tumu road after closure of the Yapie/Buipe bridges for repairs last year has caused major defects on bridges, culverts and made accessibility of some parts of the road difficult for road users.
Checks by Radford News saw that some portions of the Wa-Tumu road which have broken bridges one near Pulima and two in between Jeffisi and Nahadaqui are closed today with creation of diversions to redirect traffic.
Upon the closer due to the deadly nature of the bridges some motorist persistently find their way out passing through them. However some of the road users who spoke to RadfordNewsDesk expressed varied reactions about the deadly nature of the bridges. Some said the diversions are not conducive for motorist due to porosity which makes it slippery and can lead to accident if care is not taken. One said that left onto him, once he can make a way through, he is not bordered but want the bridges repaired as soon as possible.
As it stands now there is no contractor at site at the time of the visit by RadfordFM excerpt that the diversions have been created.
