- Ten communities in the Sissala East District have been earmarked for the construction of the “One Village One Dam” policy, one of the governing NPPs manifesto promise, Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Ridwan Abass Dauda told Radford News Desk.
Hon.Ridwan said that in exactly six weeks, construction of the Dams will begin in the ten communities in Sissala East which are listed on the first phase out of over 50 agrarian communities. Sakai, Challu, Kulfuo, Jijen, wuru, Dolibizon, Nabugubelle, Lilixia, Du East and Bichembelle will benefit from the first phase of the one Dam one village policy he indicated, however the MP Hon. Ridwan Abass says that he is unaware about how the selection criteria was done to come out with the listed communities but explained that not all communities will benefit from the policy at the same time.
Others will get their share of the policy after the first ten are served. Meanwhile consultants and the contractors are in Tamale in the Northern Region to evaluate the sites for the project across all beneficiary communities in the three Regions of Northern Ghana the MP disclosed. He also made it known that all the contractors are going to be Foreigners with local expertise because they are believed to be hard working and will get the job done as early as possible for the benefit of our people.
Under one District one factory, the MP said three investors from Israel, Spain and South Africa have shown interest in cotton production, they are therefore to compete for the sector after they had met with the one District one factory secretariat to determine their financial capability before taking over hopefully this year.
