District Health Director of District Health Management TEAM (DHMT) for Sissala East Hon. Alex Bapula in an interview with Radford News, today mentioned that, there are forty-four community based health project in the whole of the Sissala East. “Right from 2013 till now it is the Sissala East people who have more CHPS compound than any place in the region, we have about forty-four CHPS. This makes geographical accessibility cheap to health centers as it is in their communities or closer to them”.
The Former Presiding Member of the Sissala East also noted that before 2013 the Sissala East District could only boast of six Community-based Health Projects, he attributed the increase to the efforts and effective collaboration between they (DHMT) and the District Assembly as well as their partners and the Sissala community.
Hon Alex Bapula also mentioned that twenty five out of the total forty-four CHPs, they have been able to add additional building to them to be use as clinics in the various community and sometimes the communities themselves give out land to build structures for the facility.
He was full of praise to the chiefs and members of the various communities for their communal spirit in the provision of health.
