The President Akuffo Addo has pledged to complete on going infrastructural projects in the Upper west region after the regional minister led a delegation of traditional rulers to the flagstaff house yesterday.
This came to light when traditional leaders led by the acting upper west regional minister led them to the flagstaff where Tumu Kuoro,who is also a member of the council of state, Kuoro Richard Babinni Kanton enumerated challenges confronting the region.Notable among them were the roads,hospital, converting Wa Polytechnic to a technical university and others.His Excellency was qouted as saying the regional hospital has been captured in this year’s budget and in six months time the people will see governments works in the region.
Hon. Amidu Chinnia who led the delegation posted on his facebook wall of the President’s resolve to attend to the problems of the region.
“I led a delegation from the regional house of chiefs of our region to pay a courtesy call on his Excellency the president of the republic of Ghana today at the flag star house. The president responded positively to address the concerns of the chiefs confronting the region including completion of the regional hospital, exploring the possibility of setting up shea development board, Giving UDS campus in Wa autonomy, upgrading facilities of Wa Polytechnic to meet the requirements of being upgraded to a technical university, improving general infrastructure of the region especially our roads among others. The reception by the president was excellent and our” chiefs appreciate the opportunity”
The Minister was happy for the presidency for what he described as an “excellent reception and our Chiefs were appreciative”.
