In their bid towards complementing efforts of government towards improving health care delivery in their community, the people of Chinchang in the Sissala East Municipality have donated a Motor tricycle to the health facility.
In 2015 the community benefited from one of the community health post but it lacked a means of transport to carry the sick to the nearest hospital in times of need, this gap rather encouraged members of the community who pulled resources together to buy a tricycle to serve the need.
Banyina Bawouru Dalaah on behalf of the chief handed over the keys to the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Karim Nanyua in his words last week Friday “this is our widow’s mite to the clinic after our youth mobilized resources which we are presenting to you today”.
The Director of Medical Services Mr. Alex Bapula praised the elders and residents of the community for the commitment shown by providing a means of transport. “let the tricycle be available to not just Chinchang but extend its services to Dimajan number 1 and 2, Taffiasi and also promised to put it into good use and assured to take care of its regular maintenance, and as well provide a tarpaulin for the bucket in order to protect sick persons from the sun and rains. This he said will promote health delivery in the municipality and thanked the people of Chinchang for the gesture.
The Municipal Chief Hon. Karim Nanyua extolled the virtues of self-reliant and the sense of responsibility exhibited by the community and urged others to emulate. The communities waiting on government to provide all their needs should rethink and come together through volunteerism to undertake developments that benefits all. “The gesture is a reminder to the rest of the communities”. Hon. Nanyua appealed to them to cultivate the culture of maintenance.
