The education of Mr. Tahiru Kudus a second year visually impaired student of Wenchi SHS is in limbo as he struggles to get support to acquire relevant learning materials for his studies.
The 18-year-old student who hails from Welembelle in the Sissala East Municipal Assembly who was a presidential award winner in 2017 after he completed Wa school for the blind has cried out for public support to buy a laptop and four packs of brail to aid his studies. He explained the laptop will be of enormous help to his studies as well the brail.
Mr. Kudus revealed on RadfordFM Masie Breakfast Show today August 6 2018 that he has written two letters already to the Social Welfare Department of the Sissala East Municipal Assembly for support but unfortunately both letters have been reported absent from the department eventhouhg brother insist he left the letter twice at the department. He narrated he was told the first one he wrote to the department was missing then he wrote a second one for same purposes which was also reported missing.
Attempts to speak with the Social Welfare Officer of the Sissala East municipality failed .
The MCE, Hon Karim Nanyua has however promised to find out more about the missing letter for the necessary actions to be taken.
Some benevolent people have already pledged some support of about Ghc150 while a pack of the brail cost about Ghc50. His plight has raised serious concerns on how the disability fund of the municipality is distributed as students and persons with disability called on to the programme to share their frustration about their situations.
