TUMU SECTECH PREPARES FOR JUBILEE CELEBRATION IN OCTOBER 2018

A campaign has kick started towards celebrating 25 years of existence of Tumu Senior High Technical School as part of preparations towards marking the day this year
Established to ensure technical education brought transformation to the indigenous technology of the local setting for economic growth in skill learning, the school began in 1991 with 150 students who pursued Agricultural Science and purely technical and vocational education. Student population has now grown to 1500 the publicity committee of the 25th anniversary mentioned on Radford FM in a media campaign to create awareness.
The anniversary will be marked on the theme “leveraging resources for quality technical and vocational education: The role of all stakeholders”. The celebration was to take place In 2016 but shifted for some reason, however its meant to celebrate the achievements the school brought to society and individuals whiles it seeks to expand.
Hon. Moses Luri a member of the committee expressed that the school was created to train practical skills that can utilize local resources for economic growth and it is therefore an expectation with this scope as the committee expressed, to have their brand fit into society to compete with others in the job market. Old boys are being called upon to support this course as a library project has been started by some old boys ahead of the anniversary celebration even though there are numerous infrastructural challenges which are yet to be addressed.
A school cloth has been designed and outdoored for the celebration as was as others items.
