The 2020 open defecation free target set by the Sissala East Municipal Assembly for every household to construct and use toilets in the Municipality May be difficult to achieve as only fewer communities among first ten so far had completed and uses theirs. Until more efforts are put in place, the June 2020 deadline for all households in the 66 communities in the Municipality to have toilets will take more years to achieve open defecation free status. However when the Municipality started with first ten communities to eradicate open defecation, Nanchalla is seen topping while Nahadaqui, Katinia and Kassanpuori also constructed theirs but have some challenges regarding standards as recommended by the Environmental Health Unit of the Municipality. This was disclosed by Mr. Ebenezer Tankurr as he explained to Radford FM that some of the communities which are listed in the first ten are making little efforts to adopt the household toilet initiative in efforts to end open defecation. Meanwhile, in the medium term development of the Assembly, the Environmental Health Unit listed 21 communities in each year to hold them to construct toilets.
