As Lawra secondary school marks its 50th anniversary celebration on the 12th of November, 2018, Mr. Frederick Mwintomah the chairman of the publicity committee set for the occasion of the school has said all preparations have been met  towards the occasion to come Saturday where they expect his excellency to grace the occassion.

Mr. Frederick, speaking on the Radford Masie Breakfast Show Wednesday morning, pointed out that, a lot of activities have been organized towards the climax on Saturday, this he hinted that, activities such as games which include football, valley ball, netball among secondary institutions in the region have been arranged which Kanton SHS, Wa SHS and many others have been visited to take part in these games, the rest of the activities according to him are, floating around the Jirapa municipality, quiz among students, debate,  moving to some  tourist sites in the region and many others.

This he said during the interview with Mohammed Balu Salia the host mentioned that, everything is set towards the climax on Saturday 12th November this year.

The Publicity Chairman further disclosed that, apart from these, there are a number of lectures for students of the school which the first one will be done by a former student on the theme “educational development: The role of Lawra Senior High”. The second lecture will be on “the role of secondary education in the fight against poverty in Ghana” by some reps of the old students association whilst the final lecture is on “career development forum for the students” to give students incite as to how they will do to make it in future has they are progressing to achieve the vision of the institution.

Mr. Frederick also posted that, “we are happy the first gentleman of the land his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has expressed his willingness to be part of the celebration, so he will be our special guest of honor for the celebration on Saturday”. “And during the program there will also be awards and prize presentation for people who have done tremendously to support the school over the years”, he indicated.
