Tumu Cooperative Credit Union today supported the Sissala East Municipal Girl Model School with some teaching and learning materials which include marker boards and marker pens to enable effective teaching and learning in the school, it is part of their steps to strengthen their relationship after declaring an intention to adopt the school.
Madam Paulina Yawala the Girl Child Coordinator at the Municipal education office and Vice Chairperson of the board in a word during the handing over ceremony disclosed that, the credit union`s aim is not to absorbed people`s monies but to help its customers to grow because their interest rate is very low, this according her their ambition is not to make money from community members but in turn use the little profit they get from the business to support the community.
Madam Yawala has described the presentation for the school as one of their social responsibilities in community and also to depict their heinousness in terms of the board`s intention to be supreme over the school. “The board has decided that, they are going to adopt this school, so pray for us to get many people saving their monies in our organization in order for us to make more dividends and we will share with you”, she said.
Madam Paulina Yawala also took the opportunity and advised the pupils to adopt the behavior of saving, this she said that “they are products for children like you so just come and open an account any time you have 50p or 10p come and save it, so that it will help you pay your schools fees at the university level”.
The manageress of the Credit Union Madam Hor Ayisha, also reiterated that, it’s one of the credit union`s social responsibilities to help people when in need, she added that, as a Girl Model school they will do their possible best to help give courage to the young girls in times of challenges to foster academic glittering in the school.
Madam Ayisha further disclosed that, girl child education has always been very important, this according her if a girl is educated it brings more change to an area, which she quoted “if you educated girl, you educated a whole but if you educated a boy you educated an individual”. She stressed that, they are more passionate about the girl child education, for that reason, they have a product at the credit union called ‘Girl child mothers’ to give an opportunity for mothers to save for their girl children in order to support their education. The manageress also unveiled that, their doors are widely open for the institution in terms of any challenge.
Martha Akudiku, the head teacher of the school in a word expressed that, she is very overwhelmed for the gesture presented to the school by the credit union, she thanked that organization for always being with them in terms of need. She also pledged that, the materials given to the school will be assiduously used to boast academic excellence consequently.
