The Sissala East Municipal last week friday handed over 2 sites for construction of dams as part of governments one village one dam policy in Dolunbizon and Du East community.

At the handing over of the sites, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Karim Nanyua reminded members of the communities that this is in fulfilment of President Akuffo Addo campaign promise which he made before the 2016 general election saying that when he wins power every village in the Northern regions will have a dam for irrigation activities.

The Municipal Chief executive cautioned community members not to force contractors to sell materials that are going to be used for construction of the dams for them at cheaper prices. He said that community members should assist the contractors to do good work for them to realise the project which will be of long-term benefit to the communities.

Hon. Karim Nanyua also advised the youth to be available since these contractors will need workforce so that they can be employed to gain money for their engagement in the construction of the dams. He Also told community members to perform all the rituals that are necessary before the contractors come to site. The two dams have been awarded to Sunson Ltd who assured that they will come back in December and assess if we can begin for work to set off.

Contractors of the firm pledged to use four months to complete the two dams at Dolibizon  and Du East communities.
