Among the many interventions the Sissala West District Assembly would undertake towards entrepreneurial skill development of young people in 2019, head porters from the District have been earmarked for various skills training.
The Director of National Youth Authority Mr. Hudu Muah in an interview with Radford News disclosed the Authority’s plans which involves the training of young girls who travelled far to urban areas for menial jobs.
He said the Authority will track and pay visit to the young girls who have gone to do head porting in the Southern part of Ghana to dialogue with them and identify their skills needs.
The beneficiaries Will be given financial support whiles they undergo training Mr. Hudu Muah noted.
Aside that, more youth in the Sissala West District would be trained in various fields of technical and vocational skills to enable them create jobs for themselves whiles others will be prepared to utilize governments Dam projects and animal rearing initiatives in the District.
Women and persons with disabilities shall also have a package under the proposed plan in 2019.
A similar plan is said to take place in Sissala East Municipality, Youth Authority Director Mr. Adam Toffic mentioned.
