Virtue foundation saves Tumu hospital with over Ghc500,000 worth medical equipment


Tumu hospital has received a donation of medical equipment and supplies worth over Ghc 500, 000 from Virtual Foundation a non-profit organization whose mission is to create awareness, inspire action and render assistance through healthcare, education and empowerment initiatives.

The donation on 28th January 2019 includes four ultrasound machines and many other equipment which are expected to boost healthcare delivery at the Tumu hospital.

The Country Director of the Foundation Mr. Issah Mohammed Bataglia while presenting The equipment expressed that virtue foundation has been a long standing partner of the Tumu hospital in terms of health delivery in the Municipality and it is their believe the equipment support the work of medical staff.

He said Virtue Foundation will strengthen their partnership with the hospital as they espect judicious use of the equipment. Eight years since virtue foundation extended support to the hospital and other health facilities in Sissala East, today’s donation is part of similar donations they made previously including treatment of people suffering various forms of illness on yearly bases.

Mr.Mohammed Bataglia also noted that based on evaluations which are evidence base, the foundation found that healthcare needs of the people in Sissala East needed serious attention and that called for their support.

He therefore expressed the need for effective partnership from all stakeholders to support the health needs of the people as virtue foundation vision is to make Tumu hospital a one stop shop for health care delivery.

Linda Naa Okailey received the equipment on behalf of the hospital authorities and was appreciative of the guesture. She assured they are going the use the equipment effectively to enhance healthcare services at the Tumu hospital and beyond.
